The best way to get prospects’ attention is to offer them a free sample of your services. This doesn’t have to be complicated. You simply have to demonstrate the value of your services by providing some tips that can help your prospect solve a pressing problem, concern or frustration she may be having.
A good way to do this is to create a mistakes report. For instance, “7 Mistakes [your target market] make when [trying to do something].” Here are a few examples.
- 7 Mistakes Single Women Make On The First Date
- 7 Mistakes Small Business Owners Make When Hiring An Assistant
- 7 Mistakes Home Sellers Make When Pricing Their Home
- 7 Mistakes Beginning Bloggers Make When Using Facebook and Twitter
- 7 Mistakes Recent Grads Make When Trying to Land Their First Post-College Job
- 7 Mistakes Men Make When Trying To Develop 6-Pack Abs
- 7 Mistakes Start Ups Make When Trying To Get Financing From Angel Investors
- 7 Mistakes Parents make When Treating Their Infant’s Ear Infections
- 7 Mistakes Sole Proprietors Make When Buying Health Insurance
- 7 Mistakes Sales People Make During the Initial Consultation
- 7 Mistakes Dieters Make When Dining Out
No matter what business you are in, you can come up with a list of seven mistakes!
Once you have your list, write a few paragraphs that answer the following questions:
- What is the mistake?
- Why is it a mistake?
- How can your reader avoid this mistake?
- What is one action step your reader can do right now to solve this problem or avoid this mistake?
You don’t have to be a prolific writer to create your free report. Think of the task in bite-sized chunks – you are only writing 1-2 paragraphs for each of the four questions listed above. Once you answer each question for all 7 mistakes, you will have at least 7 full pages of content for your free report. Add a nice cover, a table of contents, your bio, and a description of your products and services, and your report is up to 11-12 pages!
Now, start advertising your free report in all your marketing promotions.
You don’t have to stop there. Once the content is created, you can package it in different formats:
- You can use the content as a 7-day autoresponder ecourse.
- You can create articles around the content for syndication on sites like EzineArticles.com
- You can record yourself reading the content, so you now have a 30-minute audio program.
- You can create Powerpoint slides and film yourself giving a video presentation.
